DDP Rebrands Airtel in Ghana and Burkina Faso


Ghana's outdoor advertising giant, DDP Outdoor Limited has successfully completed the first phase of rebranding Zain to Airtel. The company won the bid to implement rebranding initiative by telecom operator, Bharti Airtel to change Zain to Airtel in both Ghana and Burkina Faso.

The rebranding exercise is as a result of the acquisition of Zain's Africa operations by Bharti Airtel. The transformation of the company from Zain to Airtel in both countries was implemented in collaboration with Brand Engineers and Trinergy from South Africa for the exercise in Ghana, and Central Decor for rebranding in Burkina Faso. Ghana's outdoor advertising giant, DDP Outdoor Limited has successfully completed the first phase of rebranding Zain to Airtel.

The scope of rebranding work which is in phases includes painting and application of Point of Sale (POS) materials. The first phase of the change-over which involved de-branding of Zain branded walls, containers, kiosks and other structures in some key areas, and then rebranding in the Airtel colour and logo, as well as application of POS materials took off simultaneously in both countries with great success.

Project Manager for the rebranding exercise in Ghana and Burkina Faso, Mr. Senah Vuley who is also the General Manager of DDP Outdoor Limited said, "We put together a strong and dedicated teams to push the Airtel brand out in both countries and I'm excited at what we have been able to achieve so far".
The second phase of the rebranding exercise is expected to commence soon.
